Falling Out of the Box
October 10, 2019 at 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
| FreeFalling Out of the Box is an annual jewelry design challenge hosted by the Jansen Art Center.
The exhibit begins on Thursday, October 10 with an Opening Reception at the Jansen Art Center from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. This year’s challenge, Lost but Not Forgotten, is inspired by the shape, color, and movement of lost earrings. The artist then creates a wearable piece of jewelry from it.
Artists of all skill level are encouraged to participate – the challenge involves the fabrication of metal jewelry from supplies provided in the mystery Material Box. In order to participate, artists register by purchasing a Material Box and then have 5 weeks to complete a piece.
During the reception, many of the artists will be on hand to answer questions about their work; there will be Live Music in the Piano Lounge with Kevin Burt that is a part of the Lynden Music Festival. The Firehall Cafe will be open and serving from its full menu of food and drinks; and attendees will have the opportunity to vote for the People’s Choice Awards.
